Random Things About Me:
I love to bake, do crafts, and attend aerial yoga :)

I built this because I've seen how hard it is to find quality resources for SLPAs.

I'm a working SLPA with hands-on clinical experience across numerous school settings. At some point I realized that people kept asking the same questions over and over about pay structures (like hourly vs per session), about whether a job offer was fair, how to find jobs when you need clinical hours to get a job but can only get the clinical hours through a job, how to navigate your relationship with your supervisor especially if they're remote or have no interest in mentorship, what's required to be licensed in various states, etc. While there are many groups on Facebook and Reddit for this information, there's not a centralized place.

There are so many resouces for people who want to be SLPs, but there aren't many resources written specifically for SLPAs.

So I decided to build it. It's written the way I wish someone had talked to me when I was starting out, and it's all written by me.

All information on this website is free, I do not believe in gatekeeping when this field is already so hard to get into. That being said, there are a few digital products that are not free. They are all my own personal products and templates that I created to make my life easier at work, and purchasing them helps me keep this site as free as possible.

What this site is NOT

Here are some things to keep in mind while scrolling through the website:

  • This is not mandatory clinical advice. These are all my opinions and experiences.
  • This is not legal advice. If you have questions about employment law, consult a professional.
  • This is not an official ASHA or state board resource. Always verify scope of practice questions with your actual board, I try my best to always stay current on all laws but things change faster than I can keep up with.
  • This is not a website for SLPs, it's specifically for SLPAs who are building a career in this field. All SLPs and SLP2be's are always welcome, but the information here is strictly for SLPAs.
  • This is not a career counseling service. The information here is peer experience and your mileage may vary depending on where you live.
When in doubt about your specific scope of practice call your state board. Always advocate for yourself if you believe that you're being asked to do something outside of our scope of practice.
